What is a Thread Lift?
A thread lift is a non-surgical, minimally invasive way to re-contour the face or body. The procedure uses special suture threads to “lift up” sagging skin on the neck and face, buttocks, arms and other areas. The procedure is less time-consuming and expensive then surgery, and there is virtually little recovery or downtime. The end result is a more refreshed, relaxed, natural and youthful appearance.
Physician Skin Solutions in Glendale offers two Thread Lift options for face, neck and body those using Silhouette InstaLift and those using Nova PDOThreads. Each technique and product offers unique advantages, so the best way to determine what is best for you is to schedule a complimentary consultation.

What are PDO threads?
PDO or Polydioxanone threads are a synthetic material (thinner than a single strand of hair) that has long been used in biomedical procedures such as open-heart surgery and absorbable skin sutures. They are made of protein that your body can easily break down and absorb in just four to six months, therefore not creating any scar tissue.
What are Silhouette threads?
Silhouette threads are sutures with biodirectional cones made primarily of PLLA (poly lactic acid) a sugar based acid. Over time the sutures will naturally be absorbed by your body while stimulating production of collagen.
What is the difference between the treatments?
Each thread treatment is specifically chosen for you individual needs and baseline. One thread option may be chosen based on region being treated or the amount of lift required for each case. We may also use both threads at one time.
Is it painful?
No, the treatments are quite comfortable. Depending on the treatment, either a topical numbing cream is used or a numbing agent is injected.
Where can they be used?
Threads can be used on the face, neck, butt, arms, abdomen and thighs.
How long does the treatment take?
Depending on what areas are being treated, the procedure can take anywhere from 45-60 minutes.
What is the downtime or side effects?
There is no downtime with the treatments, depending on which treatment is received there are some activity restrictions for a short period of time to achieve ideal results. Also, there is always the chance for bruising and swelling for 1-5 days post treatment.
